Brocken Spectre is an ambitious new feature film being being created by young, 19 year-old filmmaker, Fergus Thom.
Fergus has been making films for the past 5 years, since he was 14 years old. In 2006 he started “Carrbridge Films,” an independent, non-profit, youth-run community film company with core aims in promoting and interacting with the local community.
As part of this, he and his team of enthusiastic youths have produced a range of films and worked with a variety of organisations from community arts groups to national cultural programmes.
In October 2009, under the umberella of Carrbridge Films, Fergus launched ‘Carrbridge News‘ which saw the production and online release of a quarterly digital video news programme – a first in community news delivery that has since been hailed a great success. Expanding to incorporate written news in late 2009, the initiative proceeded to be awarded the prestigious “Best Use of Journalism on the Web” awards at the Highland & Islands Media Awards in February 2011.
Brocken Spectre is Fergus’ first full scale feature film and his aims revolve around creating as professional an end result as possible.
